Each box is produced from the freshest sea urchins in season, and from the time the sea urchin is caught to the time it is delivered for processing is less than 24 hours. As with all uni we ship, we do not pack them until the order is received in order to ensure the highest possible quality of the product.

Atchan Tamaki, owner of ISF Trading, literally created the Gulf of Maine Uni industry.Originally from Wakayama, Japan, Mr. Tamaki moved to Maine and established ISF Trading in 1988. For the past 30+ years ISF has operated on the waterfront in Portland Maine sourcing urchin and sea cucumbers directly from fishermen. ISF remains one of the largest exporters of sea urchins to Japan, shipping daily.
Mr. Tamaki’s son Kenta oversees the operation and ensures quality. In addition to being a trusted supplier to Japan, countless restaurants across the country rely on ISF for their consistent and high quality products.
