When I receive the fish I can’t wait to cook it, it looks so delicious. And this how I cook it I fried, I sautéed it and I make it ceviche. Very fresh, no smell at all. 13 good size fish came in 5lb. We ate them raw as sashimi, marinated , grilled, and the rest is salted and air dried (ichiyaboshi)!

I have ordered a few times from EFish before. They were freshly delivered for the first few times. Then I got a bad shipment, this is the second time that the fish went bad.
I think the type of packaging that they use was different. There was some blackish liquid with a bad stench when I was opening the box.
The ice packs were melted, fish were bad.
I hope they can stick with the good packaging material like they did when shipping the crab.
I gave 1 star this time because I threw the fish away since they were bad.

I live in Ohio at present, so I took a chance in having fresh fish delivered from so far away. As far as they goes I was not disappointed. It was delivered next day air, still fresh and still cold.
Now, about the horse mackerel:
These are much smaller than the wild caught horse mackerel from the Atlantic. I’ve lived both east and west of the Atlantic Ocean so fresh horse mackerel was always easy to come by. And it was so delicious.
I’m sorry, I cannot say the same of these.
It’s not just that these are much smaller, while they were fresh, the flavor is off.
I don’t really know what a fishery is, but the flavor and smell screams of farm raised fish.
While I appreciate the great service of this company, I will not order again.
