Monkfish arrived in California during a heat wave, very cold and fresh. After preparing we thought it's texture was a lot like lobster but found it's flavor very neutral, taking on the flavors of any spices added during the cooking process. If you don't like fishy tasting fish like us, this is a good choice fish.

It had been years since I had had any monkfish. I took a chance on your site and purchase 4 pounds and it did not disappoint ! It was a very nice treat I still have one pound left in the freezer and plan on grilling that on the bbq here this weekend. I highly recommend monkfish to anybody who is browsing. ENJOY

First time eating and preparing American Anglerfish (Lophius americanus). Peeling away the translucent, flimsy membrane was a bit of a tax to be honest — but I also need sharper knives. If this could be done prior to being sent next time, that would be incredible. Anyways, I pan-seared the fillets of monkfish in olive oil on medium-high heat. I created a topping of sun-dried tomatoes w/ balsamic and garnished with fresh Italian parsley. E-Fish, on my first experience buying from them, delivered exceptional customer service. The woman that reached out to me was Marina — what a great help she was! The package delivered on the day it said it would and actually earlier by about 45 minutes. The fillets were very fresh; a light fishy scent (which is good) and firm to the touch. I used to work in a fish market and I know when fish isn’t fresh. Excellent job to the fishermen and others involved at True Fin Seafood. Beyond impressed. Will order from you again soon!!

Fresh fish from across the country. Requires some work to remove the membrane (look on YouTube). Superb taste. Used carbon steel pans on the outside grill with butter sherry sauce and served over fresh tomato sauce. It was a hit!
